NĀNĀKULI, Hawaii — A 64-year-old man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly approaching a large gathering with a knife and injuring two people during a confrontation at Electric Beach, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
District 8 Patrol officers responded to Electric Beach at approximately 8 p.m. following reports of a disturbance involving an armed individual.
Police said the 64-year-old suspect allegedly approached a large group of people while carrying a knife. An argument reportedly broke out, escalating into a physical struggle.
During the incident, a 54-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman sustained injuries. Emergency responders transported the male victim to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the woman was treated at the scene.
According to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, the 54-year-old victim was transported in serious condition. EMS also reported that a 64-year-old man was classified in serious condition, while two other individuals involved declined transportation to a hospital.
When officers arrived, they took the suspect into custody on suspicion of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree. Authorities have not publicly released the suspect’s identity.

Electric Beach, also known as Kahe Point Beach Park, is a popular gathering, snorkeling, and diving destination on OÊ»ahu’s leeward coast.
Police have not released additional details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
