BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — One person has died following a water rescue incident at Loughman Lake in Brevard County on Saturday evening, authorities said.
Emergency crews responded to a water rescue call in the area of Loughman Lake at approximately 5 p.m. After arriving at the scene, responders located one individual deceased.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim, and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
According to Brevard County officials, an airboat was involved in the incident, although details regarding its role have not been disclosed.
The investigation has been turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which is working to determine exactly what happened.
