A person has been seriously injured following an incident involving what police believe was a slug gun in West Auckland.
Emergency services were called to Moire Rd in West Harbour at about 10.50am on Tuesday after reports of an incident.
Police confirmed one person sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
A police spokesperson said one person had been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting remain under investigation, and police have not released further details about those involved.
Inquiries are ongoing.
