Man Dies After Falling From CBD Building as Police Investigate Sydney Incident

A man has died after falling from a building in Sydney’s central business district, prompting a significant emergency response and temporary disruptions in one of the city’s busiest commercial precincts.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Kent Street and Market Street shortly after 2.20pm on Tuesday following reports that a person had fallen from a nearby building.

NSW Police, NSW Ambulance paramedics and other emergency personnel arrived within minutes and began urgent life-saving treatment, including CPR. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident led to a large police presence in the CBD, with the intersection partially cordoned off while investigators and forensic officers examined the scene. Traffic and pedestrian movement in the area were affected for a period as emergency crews carried out their work.

Witnesses described a sombre atmosphere, with several office workers and passers-by visibly distressed by the incident. Some people who gathered near the scene were seen comforting one another as emergency services responded.

Police have not publicly identified the deceased, pending formal identification and notification of his next of kin.

Authorities said the man’s death is not currently being treated as suspicious. Investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the fall.

As is standard practice in cases involving an unexpected death, police will prepare a report for the Coroner, who will determine the cause and circumstances of the incident.

The police cordon is expected to be removed once investigators complete their examination of the scene, allowing normal activity to resume in the surrounding CBD area.
