Ghaziabad: A 15-year-old girl has died after she was allegedly pushed from the fourth floor of a building by a man accused of stalking her in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district. Police have arrested the accused and upgraded the case to murder following the teenager’s death.
The incident occurred on the night of July 15 in Bhavapur village under the jurisdiction of Kaushambi Police Station. According to police, they received information through the 112 emergency helpline at around 11 pm that a teenage girl had fallen from a building.
A police team rushed to the scene and shifted the critically injured girl to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Delhi for treatment. Despite doctors’ efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.
The victim has been identified as Khushi, 15. Her family alleged that she had stepped out around 10 pm to buy milk from a nearby shop when the accused, 30-year-old Shanawaz, allegedly abducted her, took her to the fourth floor of a building and pushed her.

Khushi’s mother, Manju, claimed that Shanawaz had been stalking her daughter for several weeks. According to the family, the teenager had confronted the accused a few days before the incident and slapped him during an argument after he allegedly harassed her. They believe the attack was carried out in retaliation.
Following the girl’s death, police added a murder charge to the case and arrested Shanawaz. Investigators are questioning the accused and examining CCTV footage, witness statements and other evidence to establish the sequence of events.
