BRAMPTON, Ontario — Peel Regional Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one person dead in Brampton on Thursday evening.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 7 p.m. in the area of Sandalwood Parkway West and Crown Victoria Drive.
According to police, one individual was found suffering from gunshot wounds when emergency crews arrived at the scene.
Victim Pronounced Dead
Authorities confirmed that the victim was pronounced dead shortly after being located.
Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased, and investigators are working to notify family members before additional details are made public.
The victim’s age and gender have also not been disclosed.
Large Police Presence at Scene
The shooting prompted a significant police response as officers secured the area and began collecting evidence.
Residents in the neighborhood reported seeing numerous emergency vehicles and police personnel surrounding the scene as investigators worked late into the evening.
Authorities have not announced any arrests and have not released information regarding possible suspects.

Peel Regional Police say homicide investigators are actively examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
