Palmdale Man’s Stabbing Death Under Investigation as Homicide

PALMDALE, Calif. — Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a Palmdale man after authorities determined he suffered multiple stab wounds before being struck by a vehicle Saturday night.

The incident began around 9 p.m. on June 6, when deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Palmdale Station responded to reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in the 500 block of East Palmdale Boulevard.

Upon arrival, deputies found an adult male lying on the roadway. Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

As investigators examined the victim, they discovered he had sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body before the vehicle collision occurred.

According to investigators, the stabbing took place in an alley near the 38400 block of 6th Street East, just north of Palmdale Boulevard. Authorities believe the victim traveled several hundred feet from the attack location before ending up in the roadway, where he was struck by a passing vehicle.

The driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and has been cooperating fully with law enforcement officials. Authorities have not indicated that the motorist is suspected of any wrongdoing.

Due to the discovery of the stab wounds, the case was reclassified from a traffic fatality investigation to a homicide investigation. Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau have assumed responsibility for the case.

As of Sunday, investigators had not identified a suspect, and no arrests had been announced. The person responsible for the stabbing remains at large.

Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area around East Palmdale Boulevard and 6th Street East between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on June 6 to contact law enforcement.

The investigation remains ongoing.
