LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Authorities have identified a man who died after being shot multiple times Saturday afternoon near Shawnee Park in Louisville’s Chickasaw neighborhood.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), officers responded to reports of a shooting near South 44th Street and West Broadway shortly before 4:30 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police provided emergency medical aid until Louisville Metro EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim later died from his injuries.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 27-year-old Kevonte White.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
As of Sunday, investigators had not announced any arrests or identified any suspects in the case.
