Louisville Man Charged With Sexual Crimes Against Animal, Evidence Tampering
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man has been charged with sexual crimes against an animal and tampering with physical evidence after investigators alleged he engaged in sexual acts with his dog and later deleted security camera footage of the incident.
According to court records, 39-year-old Christopher Gallagher was arrested Friday following an investigation that began after a witness reported seeing inappropriate conduct involving the animal on home security footage.
Investigators said the witness became concerned after being unable to contact Gallagher and checked security camera recordings from the residence. According to police, the footage allegedly showed Gallagher engaged in a sexual act involving the dog.
The witness reportedly captured screenshots from the video and later confronted Gallagher about what she had observed. Court documents state that Gallagher became upset when shown the images.
Authorities allege that Gallagher subsequently deleted the security camera footage, leading investigators to file an additional charge of tampering with physical evidence.
Gallagher was taken into custody and booked into Louisville Metro Corrections. He appeared in court Saturday morning, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
A judge set his bond at $10,000 and ordered that he have no contact with animals while the case is pending.
Gallagher is scheduled to return to court on June 15 for a preliminary hearing.
The allegations remain under investigation, and the charges have not yet been proven in court.
