One of Sydney’s most notorious convicted gang rapists has been arrested again, this time over allegations he was involved in directing a drug trafficking network operating across the city’s southwest.
Police allege Mohammed Skaf was overseeing a criminal syndicate responsible for the distribution of illegal drugs, prompting a major investigation by law enforcement authorities.
As part of the operation, officers conducted a series of raids across multiple locations in Sydney’s southwest. During the searches, police allegedly seized quantities of cocaine, large amounts of cash, and other items believed to be linked to drug trafficking activities.
Investigators claim the operation uncovered evidence suggesting the syndicate was involved in the supply and distribution of illicit drugs throughout the region.
Skaf was taken into custody and is expected to face a range of drug-related charges. Police allege he played a leadership role within the network, directing the activities of other members involved in the operation.
The arrest marks the latest chapter in the criminal history of Skaf, who became one of Australia’s most infamous offenders following his conviction for his role in a series of gang rapes that shocked the nation in the early 2000s.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing and further arrests have not been ruled out as detectives continue examining evidence seized during the raids.
Police have not disclosed the full quantity of drugs or cash recovered but described the seizure as significant. Investigators believe the operation has disrupted an established drug supply network operating across Sydney’s southwest.
Skaf remains before the courts as legal proceedings continue.
