Neighbour Bin Feud Escalates Into Chainsaw Confrontation in Melbourne

A long-running dispute over rubbish bins at a Melbourne unit block has escalated into a bizarre confrontation involving a chainsaw, leaving neighbours locked in an increasingly bitter feud.

The disagreement began late last year when a family living in the front unit of a property claimed their new neighbour objected to where they stored their rubbish bins in a shared area near the driveway.

Twenty-one-year-old Jolon, whose family has owned the property for three decades, said the bins had been kept in the same location for years without issue. However, tensions rose after a new neighbour, identified as Danielle, allegedly began leaving notes complaining about their placement.

According to Jolon, the situation worsened when her mother returned home one day to find the bins tipped over on the driveway.

The family later installed security cameras and claim the footage showed the neighbour repeatedly moving the bins. Jolon said there were several occasions when the bins were placed behind her mother’s vehicle, restricting access to the driveway.

“I had then woken up to the bins being behind my mother’s car. I had moved them and throughout the day she repetitively did it,” Jolon said.

The dispute took a dramatic turn when Jolon allegedly spotted the neighbour carrying a chainsaw during the ongoing argument.

The incident was featured on A Current Affair, highlighting how a disagreement over rubbish bins spiralled into a neighbourhood standoff.

No injuries have been reported, and it is unclear whether police have been called or if any formal complaints have been lodged. The dispute between the neighbours remains unresolved.
