MCKINNEY, Texas — Police are seeking the public’s assistance as they investigate the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man at a McKinney apartment complex on Friday night.
According to the McKinney Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 8:30 p.m. on June 19 at the Larkin Apartments, located at 2301 W. White Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered 19-year-old Jose Herberto Martin inside a vehicle parked in the apartment complex parking lot.
Authorities said Martin had suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The McKinney Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has launched an active homicide investigation into the shooting. Detectives are working to determine what led to the deadly incident and identify the person responsible.
As of Saturday, no arrests had been made, and investigators have not released information about a possible suspect or motive. Officials described the case as an ongoing investigation and said additional details are not currently available.
