Police Release Image After Girl Allegedly “Upskirted” on Melbourne Tram

Police have released a digital composite image of a man they believe may be able to assist with an investigation after an 11-year-old girl was allegedly photographed inappropriately on a Melbourne tram.

According to Victoria Police, the incident occurred between 8:25 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. on May 28 while the girl was travelling through Melbourne’s CBD on a Route 57 tram.

Investigators allege an unknown man was seated across from the girl and took inappropriate images of her before leaving the tram at the intersection of Errol and Queensberry streets in North Melbourne.

The girl later arrived at school and reported the incident, after which police were notified.

As part of their investigation, officers have released a sketch of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries. He is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 20 and 30 years old, with slightly curly blond shoulder-length hair.

Police say the man was wearing jeans and a knitted burnt orange and brown jumper at the time of the incident.

Investigators are urging anyone who recognizes the man or who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
