A private school in Melbourne’s outer west was placed into lockdown after three males allegedly broke into a home nearby, prompting a major police response.Police say the incident occurred about 7.20am on Friday at a property in Tarneit’s Tenterfield Place. Investigators allege three males entered the backyard of the home, with one of them gaining entry through a bathroom window.
The group was confronted by a female resident before allegedly fleeing the scene on foot. Police said the woman was not physically injured during the incident.Nearby school Thomas Carr College was placed into lockdown as a precaution while officers searched the area.
Dramatic footage later captured police arresting a 15-year-old boy in a rideshare vehicle in Altona North. The teenager is assisting police with their inquiries in relation to the alleged aggravated burglary.
Victoria Police confirmed that no weapons were located during the investigation.
The inquiry remains ongoing as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
