Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur allegedly used a GPS tracker to monitor her husband’s movements before catching him with his alleged girlfriend at a hotel, triggering a dramatic confrontation that spilled from the hotel premises onto the street and later into a court complex. Videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media.
According to police, the woman, a resident of a village in neighbouring Baghpat district, had long suspected her husband of having an extramarital affair. To verify her suspicions, she, along with her brother-in-law and other family members, allegedly installed a GPS tracking device in her husband’s car to monitor his movements.
Police said the incident occurred at the Banke Bihari Hotel on Modinagar Road in Hapur. On Sunday, after her husband told the family he was leaving for work, the woman tracked the vehicle’s location through the GPS device. When the signal showed the car parked at the hotel, she and her relatives rushed to the location and allegedly found him there with another woman.
Witnesses said the discovery led to a heated argument inside the hotel, which soon escalated into a public altercation. The woman allegedly assaulted her husband while relatives joined the confrontation, drawing a large crowd outside the hotel. Police from Hapur Nagar Kotwali arrived at the scene and took both parties to the police station to restore order.
The drama, however, did not end there. After the husband was granted bail by a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) court in connection with preventive action taken by police, the woman allegedly confronted and assaulted him again within the court premises, creating another commotion.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that the other woman found with her husband worked as a nurse at a government hospital in Bulandshahr district, although police said that claim has not yet been officially verified.
Hapur police confirmed that preventive action for breach of peace was initiated against both sides following the altercation. Officials said they are examining the woman’s written complaint and will determine whether any further legal action is warranted after completing the investigation. Meanwhile, videos of the confrontation at the hotel and court complex continue to circulate widely online.
