Two 13-Year-Old Boys Arrested After Suspected Stabbing in Suffolk Village

RED LODGE, England — Two 13-year-old boys have been arrested following a suspected stabbing during a fight in the Suffolk village of Red Lodge, police said.

Officers were called to Hundred Acre Way at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, after reports of an altercation involving two teenage boys in which a knife was allegedly seen.

Both Teenagers Suffered Injuries

According to police, both boys left the scene before officers arrived.

One of the teenagers was later taken to hospital by family members for treatment of stab wounds to his hand. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

The second boy was located later that evening in nearby Beck Row. He was also taken to hospital after suffering stab wounds to his hand and leg before being arrested on the same charge.

Authorities have not disclosed the severity of the injuries but indicated both teenagers received medical treatment.

Police Investigation Underway

Following their arrests, both boys were taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Investigators are working to establish the circumstances that led to the confrontation and determine how the injuries were sustained.

No further arrests have been announced.

Increased Police Presence

Police say officers will maintain a visible presence in the community as inquiries continue.

A police spokesperson said officers will conduct high-visibility patrols in the area and encouraged residents to speak with officers if they have concerns or information related to the incident.

Authorities are also appealing for witnesses who may have seen the altercation or have information that could assist the investigation.

The incident has raised concerns among local residents due to the young age of those involved.

Police have emphasized that the investigation remains active and are continuing to gather evidence from the scene and surrounding area.
